The Summer Squash and The Roses

My parents were avid gardeners. Not only did they enjoy the beauty of the flora and fauna in nature they also loved to garden. My father would kneel on the ground to plant new flowers and my mother would come up with amazing landscaping designs. I did not realize that I had a gardener in me till the time I moved to USA three plus decades ago!!! The summer squash and the radiant roses sparked my spirit alike and evoked nostalgia from a bygone time. Indeed the dormant gardener in my heart is one of the best gifts from my parents. The magical Iris in yellow and purple I planted a decade ago in our front yard appear every spring to remind us of the timeless wisdom, ” to plant a garden  is to believe in tomorrow.”
